CHINA-ITALY SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION WEEK 2017
The China-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Week–2017 Edition will be held in three different cities across China from the 13th to 17th of November. The whole week is to be dedicated to the science and technology cooperation activities between the two countries with the aim of creating scientific, technological and commercial partnerships in the innovative research-entrepreneurial system.
This year the event will be launched in Beijing on November 14th with the presence of the Italian Minister of Education, University and Research, Valeria Fedeli and the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology, Wan Gang. The following days will be held in Chengdu - an important economic center and a strategic location for transportation and communication - and in Guiyang - the economic and technology center of the Guizhou Province.
The event will consist of thematic seminars and roundtables about relevant S&T topics for both countries, as well as one-to-one meetings. This year’s special events will include the 2nd edition of the China-Italy Best Start-ups Showcase and the Digital Fabrication Zone between Italian and Chinese makers.
The programme of the event will be as follows:
- November 13th - Sino-Italian Exchange Event: thematic seminars, one-to-one meetings -tbc
- November 14th - Main Event: Institutional Ceremony, thematic seminars, one-to-one meetings
- November 15th - Visits to centers of excellence November
- 16th - Sub-forum in Chengdu: thematic seminars, one-to-one meetings November
- 17th - Sub-forum in Guiyang: thematic seminars, one-to-one meetings

Who can participate: Enterprises, private or public organizations (research centers, universities, innovative districts, research-enterprise clusters, science and technology parks, associations, etc.) with headquarters in Italy or in China, active in the field of innovation and/or research and interested in establishing connections and creating new partnerships with potential partners from the PRC.
Promoters: The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC and from the Italian side by the Ministry of Education, University and Research – MIUR in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – MAECI and it is coordinated by Città della Scienza of Naples. It is realized in synergy with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environment and Land and Sea Protection and in cooperation with the National Research Council – CNR, Confindustria (the Italian association of Italian entrepreneurs) and the main Italian Universities and Research Centers, together with the Campania Region for the Sino-Italian Exchange Event.
Registration deadline: The deadline to register to the event is October 15th, 2017 for those who are interested in participating in the one-to-one meetings, whereas the registrations for the event will be open until October 30th, 2017. It is recommended to register as soon as possible in order to allow the organizers to work on the involvement of and matching with potential Chinese partners.
